Ready diagrams

  • 2-3-1

Six defenders set up with two high, three across and one on the crease against three attackers. Use it as the base shape for settled defence.

  • Dodge

The attacker behind the goal dodges up toward the crease and passes to a teammate on the wing. Use it to draw a slide and find the open shooter.

  • Zone

Four defenders guard areas instead of players, and one slides toward the attacker with the ball. Use it to protect the crease against dodges.

  • Clear

The goalkeeper passes out to the wing and a midfielder waits at the midline. Use it to move the ball out of the defensive end past a riding attacker.
