VOLLEYBALL TACTICS BOARD & ROTATIONS
Plan 5-1 or 4-2 systems on the official FIVB court, with the attack line and zones 1–6. Draw serve receive, blocking and attack variations.
Rotation zones 1–6 and the net
Rotation rules and positional switches decide what you can run.
# Front row and back row
Front-row players in zones 4, 3 and 2 can block and attack. Back-row players in 5, 6 and 1 must take off from behind the 3-metre line.
# Roles & the libero
Setter, outside, middle, opposite and libero. Mark the libero's switches with the back-row middle in a distinct color.
Built for volleyball drawing tools
From serve receive to attack combinations, draw every volleyball action.
Serve & pass paths
Float and jump-serve arrows, forearm-pass targets, the setter's path to zone 2.5 and set parabolas.
Block & coverage
Solo, double and triple block zones, plus back-row coverage for tips behind the block.
Multiple attack options
Diagram a pipe, a quick, a slide and a high set in the same play.
Popular volleyball patterns
The patterns modern volleyball teams actually run:
5-1 offense
One setter runs all six rotations, with three front-row and two back-row attackers.
3-player serve receive
Two outside hitters and the libero cover the court while the setter hides and releases to the net.
Pipe (back-row) attack
The front-row middle pulls the block and the hitter attacks from zone 6.
Slide attack
The middle slides behind the setter, takes off on one foot and hits from the pin. Common in women's volleyball.
