5-out All five players start outside the three-point line. 4-out 1-in Four players stay outside and one big starts inside. Horns Both bigs start on the elbows with the point guard on the ball. 1-4 high The guard is at the top and four players line up at the free-throw line. Horns screen An elbow screen frees the guard to cut and pass. High pick and roll A top screen sends the big rolling to the basket. Floppy Corner players curl off down screens to the wing. UCLA After the wing pass, the high post cuts to the block. Give and go The passer cuts to the basket after the pass. Fast break An outlet pass starts the lanes and the ball goes ahead. 2-3 zone Two defenders guard the top and three protect the paint. 3-2 zone Three defenders start outside and two stay inside. 1-3-1 zone One at the top, three across the middle, one on the baseline. Man to man Defenders take away the passing lanes.
